A full set of polyhedral dice are required to play Silvergarde. However unlike most board games, Silvergarde is cooperative and the whole group moves as a unit from one location to the next.

There are different ending cards to choose from (at the start of the game) which are shuffled into the location deck. When the party lands on the ending card, the instructions for how to win as described on the card must be met. The party wins or loses together.
